sleep is for the weak, all you can eat?
So I intended to write a post as soon as I got back from work… That didn’t happen because I fell asleep after supper, so here I am at 1:40AM writing something quick. As Burn might say “sleep is for the weak, the time for sleep is now”.
Monday was interesting. I traveled to akasaka-mitsuke like normal on Mondays, but this time I needed to send a letter by postal mail. So this time I decided to use a different post office (to give the local postal clerk a break from my gaijin-doesnt-speak-or-barely-understands-nihongo self). Surprisingly the postal clerk in Akasaka-mitsuke was on point today - as soon as I said my 4 word phrase for mailing - he replied nonchalantly “hai, hyaku-ju yen desu” (sure, thats 110 yen.). Quick, efficient, success.
On another front 2 of my coworkers wanted to go to a particular Italian restaurant for lunch. I agreed to join them, and was pleasantly surprised by the 2nd restaurant in Japan that was all-you-can-eat. A buffet of pasta, fried oyster, salad, and dessert.
For 1000 yen (1 year ago that would have been $10.00… now unfortunately its $11.00 [ i took a %10 paycut when i moved to japan because of the horrible exchange rate =\ ]) I filled myself on pasta and salad. It was a bit expensive to me (CiCis in the US is cheaper and with more offering), but hey - its a buffet in Japan!
