Yuinou Weekend

Ok, I just got back a bit later than I expected and I’m tired.  We met 2 of Ayako’s coworkers - Ferdi and Chifumi (if any of you knew Fumi at UNA - just say her name and add some “chi” in the front).  They are dating, and Ferdi is from the Netherlands - and is leaving this week to return there.  We ate dinner and had coffee, and we talked a lot.  So much so that I am tired of words - I don’t even want to think of words right now, unless they can be compiled into machine language and used to automate something that will hasten my way to slumberland.

However tired I may be, it isn’t fair to not comment on this past weekend.  Ayako and I had a great weekend with her parents.  Friday we visited and ate sukiyaki - and drank the purest rice wine.  It was the perfect way to relax before we did a rehersal for our Yuinou.  I’m pretty sure that most Japanese don’t do rehersals for this sort of thing, but since I had absolutely no clue what we were going to be doing - Ayako’s mother wrote out the steps and Ayako translated it for me.  Lots of bowing, gift passing, important lines and traditions.

Saturday morning we did the real Yuinou ceremony and it went very smoothly.  We recorded it too, so I plan on letting those interested souls have an opportunity to watch it here on the site.  But not tonight.

Ok, thats it.  These words are not automating anything, so I’ll stop here.
