mokuyoubi, kinyoubi, doyoubi (saturday)
So with 23 minutes left for “mokuyoubi” (Thursday), I’m going to quickly give a weekend forecast, well - not really. Instead let me just jot down the things I plan on doing:
kinyoubi - work, work, and a little work after that (hey, I enjoy what I do!). oh, and cant forget Picture Post Kinyoubi
doyoubi - Ayako and I will put pen to paper and sign a contract on a new apartment. We’ve finally made our decision. Unfortunately, we never got a chance to see the 7th floor apartment that I posted about much earlier (and the 2nd and 3rd floors) because they were booked. We were on the waiting list, and essentially became “runners-up” for that prize.
Our new apartment is a 5th floor 1LDK (living, dining, kitchen) at 49m sq in a nice town only 5 mins walk from the station (and conveniently close to a QQ store - of which I so frequently shop at). The new apartment is on the Eastern side of Tokyo, actually in Chiba which is a different prefecture.
After a lot of discussion we made the decision on this apartment based on a number of factors. Considering that we had physically seen 20+ apartments, it was easier to really compare all the different features we liked, disliked, considered a luxury, and those we considered a necessity. This apartment won on several fronts, but the main reasons for its selection were (no particular order):
- Within our budget (the most important one)
- A lower entry fee (we got a discount on “gift” money requirements)
- Close to the station - within 10 mins or less walk
- Plenty of shopping, especially groceries
- Multiple train options (3 different lines)
- The apartment is roomy, and newer
- Large balcony, higher floor with good view
- Very nice kitchen - a big upgrade for us
I’ll share photos of the new apartment and the old (current) apartment in the near future. Our tentative move date is next Saturday (doyoubi)!
