Season of Hanabi
In Japan now there are a lot of Hanabi festivals. Hanabi is the word for fireworks here, and Japanese love fireworks. Two or three days a week there is a fireworks show somewhere around Tokyo, drawing large crowds dressed in yukatas - the favorite summertime festival garb.
Last year I attended the Edogawa Fireworks / Hanabi festival in Shinozaki park. It was very nice, and well worth the time to go watch. This year it is scheduled again for:
Time: 19:15~20:30
Access: Shinozaki Stn. on the Toei Shinjuku subway (15-min. walk); Ichikawa Stn. (15-min. walk ) or Koiwa Stn. (25-min. walk), JR Sobu Line
