Movie tickets and Disney tickets
So the last two weekends have been fun. On the 19th we went to Disneyland Tokyo - a very fun place to go. This was my second time ever going to Disneyland, and best of all it was free! Well, mostly. The tickets to Disney were early wedding gifts from one of Ayako’s coworkers, so all we had to pay for was the train ticket there and for any food we ate. Can’t beat that deal!
Both Disneyland and Disneysea here in Japan are great places to visit for a day of fun. I can’t compare their counterparts in the US or elsewhere because I’ve never been to any other of the theme parks.
This past Kinyoubi we went to watch the new Harry Potter movie. Ayako has seen all the previous ones and wanted to add to the list. I also have seen the previous ones, but honestly can’t remember much about them (except that the one with the giant snake kept putting me to sleep - I’ve tried to watch it twice and both times fell asleep in the middle of it).
This new addition to the series was actually better in my opinion than all the previous ones. Having no real interest in reading the books myself, and not being a huge fan of the franchise, I can honestly say that this movie was the most enjoyable out the bunch for general movie goers. It was finally the movie in this series that showed a greater deal of darkness and overall maturer themes, good action, and interestingly dangerous adventure.
So what does this movie have to do with Japan, not much honestly, and I’m not looking to become a movie critic for any of you. However, the movie ticketing process here in Japan is something that I haven’t blogged about and it deserves a little attention.
Probably one of my favorite things about going to the theater in Japan over the US is the choice of seating. When you purchase your tickets either online or at the box office, you can choose what seats you want from the ones that are available. No mad rush for the best seats in the house, if you want middle-middle just purchase your tickets as early as possible and choose them! Rows are lettered and seats numbered, all you have to do is match your ticket with your spot - no rush, no long lines, no worries ![]()

Hehe going to the movies works like that here in Colombia too. Even though you can find both types of theaters…where you make reservations online and choose the seats previously or where you just go and kill everyone for the seat you want lol. I enjoyed the new HP movie…but I think some others have been better. A lot of things were changed/added/removed compared to the book. However, it wasn’t that bad, I still enjoyed it! I am a big fan of HP so I had been waiting two years to see that movie, lol. Disneyland sounds fun! I want to go someday! Glad to hear you guys had fun <3 I’m jealous! In a friendly way, of course

Yeah, i heard alot has changed from the book to the movie screen. I haven’t read any of the books, but hear that this one wasn’t as good as it should have been (from HP fans).
Although it was a long movie, I didn’t fall asleep during it - so for a Harry Potter movie - that is good!
