Costco in Japan last weekend
Today was a normal day of work, the type that passes by without much to write about… or wait, perhaps there is plenty to write about! The weekend before this past one I had an opportunity to go to Costco in Chiba. Our friend with a car (and costco membership) took us there so it was actually feasible to buy some things and bring them back.
If you’ve ever been to a Costco in the US this was much the same. Except the building was 5 stories tall, with the top 3 being parking, and the bottom 2 being the store. The food and household goods were the giant American size - so it was nice to stock up on things in bulk with extra discounted prices. Gotta love economies of scale!
The only big difference in offerings from this Costco and what you might find in the US was a full aisle of just rice, and rice products. As well as a large section of sushi and sashimi. One thing that is 100% the same as the American stores - the cheap giant hotdog and pizza with unlimited refills on drinks when you eat there!
And for your viewing pleasure here is another suppanda poster I saw on the metro.

Hahaha that panda makes me laugh
Sounds like a large place! There are places like Costco here too
I enjoy the prices but I rarely go shopping there. Do you guys have a car? What do people do when they don’t? For example, here in Colombia if you don’t have a car it is easy to find a bus station anywhere or busses or cabs…kinda like NYC…but in GA, I find it a lot harder…like if you’re not in ATL (if you’re in Duluth or stuff like that) it gets more difficult to find someone to give you a ride, in case you don0t have a car. Is is the same there, or is it easy like it is here or in NYC? How’s traffic there? Here, it certainly sucks sometimes!

We dont have a car, too expensive to own one here (parking and all). Trains and buses here are very good, the trains are always on time and clean. Cabs are also everywhere, but I’ve only used one once.
Cant say much about the traffic, since i walk and take the trains everywhere
