Mac / Sushi Post Kinyoubi!

Its Friday again, and time for a peek into my life here in Japan through photos.

Today, I’ve got some great photos for you, lets get started with the best ones - LunchTime!!!

Charles Abbott eats at sushi boat
Lunch today was at a Kaiten Sushi restaurant, also referred to as a “Sushi Boat” restaurant by one of my friends Shingo. Sushi Boat restaurants have a conveyor belt that pull plates of sushi around for you to choose from. The sushi is cheap, fresh, and ooooh so GOOD!

So Charles Abbott had 5 “boats” of sushi, and today all sushi was on sale for 136 yen per boat… total expenditure for tasty sushi = 680 yen (drink and tax included).

watch out for the doors
Cute sign on the train aimed at kids - with its short simple message in hiragana and katakana. Simply tells them to be careful around the doors.

McDonalds advertisement Japan
4 New hamburgers that are appearing in McDonald’s Japan. I tried the Cheese-Egg-Double-Mac already - and it was really good!! (don’t tell Ayako I went there!). The next new sandwich will start after I leave to go back to the US for a short stay… good thing I will be back just in time to try it before they swap to another new sandwich.

From the pictures, which one would you want to try?

I’d try the bottom-right, because I’m curious if that’s gravy, or chocolate. It would be a surprise either way. Chicken Fried Steak with Chocolate Covered Biscuits??

I love the top right one however, cause it has bacon, beef and egg (chicken). Simply Awesome.

haha, chocolate covered biscuits… sounds interesting, i’ll let you know when i try it

yep, pork, chicken, and beef all 3 major food groups right?

How much is 680 yen in US dollars? I’d try the desserts hehe does that count? I’ve kind of lost my liking for cheeseburgers and fast food lately hehe :)

about 7$…. the $ is weak right now… so it’s very painful when i have to withdraw money here in Japan from my American bank account… not only do i lose money on exchange rate - but the bank also charges me a service fee for withdrawing money into foreign currency… i should probably not get started on this subject, makes me sad :(

at least it does keep me from spending much money though

oh, and unless you mean a burger for dessert - then it doesnt count ;) haha jk

Haha wow I thought to myself “wow Charles replied pretty fast!” but then I forget it must be sometime in the morning there…here’s it’s past midnight but I’m doing some schoolwork (even though I’ve been doing that for a long time so I’m about to fall asleep on my computer) so I decided to relax a bit and get my mind off things and decided to check your blog! :) Sorry to hear about all those fees and stuff :S I know how that is…it sucks!! :S Next time you go to the US you should just take the money to Japan with you….like, real money so you don’t have to do it through banks. Anywayyyy I hope it all made sense, I’m very sleepy! And btw, the burger does NOT count as dessert :D I want real desserts lol! Were they any good? When are you guys going back to the States for the wedding btw? I know you told me, but I forgot…I forget things!

  6. charles Says:

Good idea, I’ll probably withdraw money and just exchange it on my way back :)

Yep, its daytime here, remember I live in the future ;)

  7. charles Says:

Oh, i’m going back to the US in Sept, the weekend of the 19th is celebration time.

  8. Cami Says:
