Okinawan present
Short post today, I’m tired. This morning I spent a couple hours going to the immigration office in Tokyo and preparing for my trip back to the US. Now that I’ve got a visa to stay here I actually have to ask permission to leave and come back haha… at least the form was a simple 1 pager, but unfortunately permission requires payment, and I payed 3000 yen ($30) to get a stamp saying I could leave and come back.
On another subject, our friends recently gave us an “omiyage” (present) from their trip to Okinawa. These little Okinawan mascots(?) watch over my desk here at the apartment.
Ayako calls them caesars…. but I wasn’t able to find any reference to them in my 2 minutes of Google research. If anyone has any clue, let me know - but here they are…
