On closer inspection we can see a Kanji character as the topper. I chose this over a more traditional bride and groom topper (I didn’t have time to consult Ayako, she was already on the plane to the US!).

The character is used in many words, but it boils down to the same meaning. I’ll leave you with a selection from my dictionary as they are excellent descriptions of the memories I have of that day:

楽しい = Tanoshii = pleasant; enjoyable; delightful
楽しみ = Tanoshimi = amusement; entertainment; fun; enjoyment; pleasure
楽しむ = Tanoshimu = enjoy, relish; have a good time
