Eigo no hito de
Just an interesting note from last weekend. On Sunday Ayako and I went to Ikea in Chiba (next to Tokyo), then to Nitori (a Japanese furniture store) to scout out some furniture for our apartment. While we were passing through the section that had desks a little girl was sitting there staring at us and when I turned to look at her she said out loud “eigo no hito de”.
That roughly translates to “English speaking person is”. It reminded me of the previous experience I wrote about with the outspoken girl in the train. Although in one regard it is cute… I often wonder if all these curious stares, finger pointing, and outspoken observations by young kids will ever grow old and eventually get on my nerves. I suppose that is yet to be seen, but for now it doesn’t bother me.
On to the photos. For this kinyoubi I decided to pick a few random photos from the weekend trip that I’ve been recently blogging about. Since we were close to Obama Japan, we saw some ridiculous treats for sale in one of the rest stops.

And later I saw a McDonalds that looked like a new house. This photo doesn’t really give it justice… silly iphone camera.

Ronald\’s house looks comforting. Obama Japan, I wouldn\’t have guessed there was one named such. Looks like they adapted the Prez\’s face to.

ha, yeah comforting with a double-quarter pounder… mmmmmmm
there is a famous comedian here now (just recently famous) who is called the Japanese Obama - becasue he looks similar to the President in the face. About the only English he speaks is “Yes we can” haha
