Basketball courts around Tokyo
So far I’ve discovered 4 basketball courts in the metro-Tokyo area. Finding basketball courts has not been an easy task… I plan on making this an extensive list by updating it whenever I find more, but here are the few I know of so far:
1) In Shinjuku in the area known as kabuki town, there is a court behind the hospital. The court is not very nice (rough wavy pavement, trees too close), but it does have 2 goals.
2) Yoyogi park near the NHK building, snug between the large soccer field and the running track are two very nice basketball courts. The courts are sponsored by Nike, so they are well maintained and always have nice nets.
3) In the city of Ichikawa, Chiba, there is a new basketball court next to a new skateboard park about 15 minutes walk from the Ichikawashiohama station on the mushashino line.
4) Not far from Disney there is a basketball court in Urayasu city just 15 minutes walk from the shinurayasu station.
That’s it for now… hopefully I’ll find some other convenient courts in Tokyo soon.

do you have a picture of the basketball court in shinjuku?

alas I do not, and it has been a while since I was there. Since Yoyogi is not too far away I highly suggest it for a good basketball experience.
Good idea though, I’ll take a trip there and take some photos.
