Dango, Deer, and Vikings in Japan
First up on this friday photo post is dango. Rice balls grilled to a tasty treat. Here are the famous Mitarashi Dango (original) from southern Japan:

Next up, a deer in Nara. Deer is “shika” in Japanese (pronounced she-ka), in a previous post I mentioned that they were considered sacred in some areas.

And finally, vikings in Japan. No, not those vikings… these:

Vikings are all-you-can-eat restaruants. The sign on this one says “Global Viking” using katakana. First time I’ve seen this restaurant chain before, but I hear they are pretty popular.

I can safely recommend the dango, although my favorite dango is found at the grocery store instead of the restaurant (pictured above).
I do enjoy venison stew, but bet that if you were to kill one of the deer in Nara it would not make you any friends there.
Yes, only saw the restaurant, unfortunately it was early in the morning, and they had not opened yet

Wow - I like rice, but burning it doesn’t seem appealing. To much.
