I need new shoes
I need a pair of new shoes soon. I walk a lot in Japan. Really, I walk 10X more than when I was in the States (maybe 100X more). I walk in the snow, rain, and sweltering heat. Walking is a necessity.
So, my shoes wear out much quicker now. My main pair, purchased last year in the States, already has a hole around the toe.
But, there is a problem with me and shoes. You see, I have what Japanese people consider as big feet. In the US, my size 12 (29.5cm) foot is quite easy to accommodate. Here, on the other hand, it is impossible.
I haven’t found any shoes in the dozen stores or so that are 29.5 - 30cm in size. They mostly all stock size 9 (27cm) and 10 (28cm), but rarely anything much larger.
