Stop, Dominos, I cant afford it!
Short post, but worthy of a few photos (especially since my last posts have been void of imagery).
Almost every week I get an advertisement from some pizza delivery place. Their beautiful 4 page spreads showcase some of the most mouthwatering pizzas I’ve ever seen.
In fact, I don’t recall seeing such delicious looking photos before in the US.
But, there is a problem. As soon as my eyes scan down to the prices of said pizza, I nearly faint in surprise. Delivered pizza in Tokyo is too expensive to justify. I am usually a penny pincher, especially when it comes to buying stuff, food included (memories, on the other hand, I don’t mind splurging on).
Would you spend 35$ on a pizza that is no larger than a medium in the US? How about 25$ for a small size from the US (do they even have small in the US? this is sorta between personal pan size and medium, but I never recall buying a “small” pizza).

Ok, my camera didn’t do a good job here. Getting close and you still can’t see these prices very good.

Well, at least I can afford these cheap and quite tasty chips (1$ / 100yen). Pizza La chips are actually a joint product between Frito-lay (Doritos) company from the US and PizzaLa pizza company from Japan.
